Does the Journal charge any publication fees?
The Journal has waived Article Processing Charges (APC) for submissions from 01 January 2025 to 31 December 2025. From 01 January 2026, APCs will apply to all accepted manuscripts.

How does the Journal handle plagiarism?
All manuscripts undergo a plagiarism check using Turnitin during initial screening. An acceptable similarity index is 20% or below. If plagiarism is detected, authors will be contacted for clarification, and appropriate action will be taken, including potential rejection of the manuscript.

How long does the peer-review process take?
The peer-review process typically takes 4–6 weeks, depending on the availability of reviewers and the complexity of the manuscript.

What happens after my manuscript is accepted?
Accepted manuscripts will undergo copyediting, formatting, and proofreading before publication. Authors will receive a proof version for review before final publication.

Will my article be available open access?
Yes, all articles published in the BRICS Journal of International Relations and Development are open access and freely available to readers worldwide.
